Inward & Onward: Unraveling 66- Triptych - each piece is 24x30, for a total width of 72. Acrylic on canvas.
I recently took a trip west... a life changing experience. While I have been out there before, I never drove alone, and on my own terms. I stopped and took pictures with my new 35mm every chance I got... probably why it took me 4 days to get there. But I truly feel it is impossible to journey through Oklahoma, Texas, New Mexico, Arizona, Nevada and California without gasping in awe at everything our Creator has made. It's a beautiful country, and though no photo or painting could ever do the beauty justice, I was itching the entire time to incorporate what I saw along the way into something new. So here you have it... roads twisting into thorns, unraveling toward the West, a hidden city skyline, mountains turning into smoke stacks, the random road sign warning of turns ahead.... my own unique take, naturally, currently residing on my living room wall where I painted it (the dangers of having a house the size of a pill box.)
